Seawall and Sheet Pile Maintenance

Seawall and Sheet Pile Cleaning

Seawalls and bulkheads are barriers intended to prevent erosion, flooding and damage to structures.  Proper maintenance is important to ensure that this feature of your property remains structurally sound.  The first step to seawall/bulkhead maintenance is an annual cleaning. Marine growth adds weight and can compromise the function of the seawall.

A clean seawall/bulkhead:

  • Clears the way for a visual inspection

  • Is more aesthetically pleasing/increases curb appeal

  • Avoids seawall replacement cost through regular maintenance

  • Allows weep holes to drain properly

Inspection Services

Once we clean a seawall or sheet pile, we will inspect it to provide a baseline to monitor erosion and deterioration.  Changes to your seawall can be documented through frequent inspections.  These inspections can be valuable, allowing for small repairs overtime and potentially preventing a costly replacement.

We will inspect your seawall/bulkhead above and below the waterline for spalling, cracking, erosion, misalignment, sinkholes, settlement, corrosion and clogging.

We also offer UT (Ultrasonic Testing) of sheet pile to measure steel thickness to determine the extent of steel loss due to corrosion.
