Pilings that appear to have “fuzzy wood” are damaged by a process known as delignification. This weakens the piling and can cause eventual collaspe.

This process can be prevented by treating the tops of pilings. Our team has a special two part sealant that stops the wicking process.

Piling caps prevent damage from UV light, deter birds and keep rain water from pooling on top of the piling.

Choices range from conical, low-profile flat, copper and caps with built in illumination.
