Ormond Beach Dock Inspection

We conducted another Level I dock inspection yesterday in Ormond Beach. The inspection was to determine if the existing dock was viable enough for a boat lift. Unfortunately, many of these pilings had evidence of advanced marine borer infestation. That's why preventative actions like wrapping pilings and regular cleanings/inspections are important. Catching a marine borer infestation early can save a dock.

Marine borers like ship worms are capable of moving from one wooden structure to the next. Ship worm larvae can be adrift for up to 30 days before attaching to a host structure.
